This week's gains, interestingly, were powered by last week's laggards. The S&P 500 ETF (SPY) climbed higher by 0.9% while the tech-heavy Nasdaq ETF (QQQ) gained 0.8%, led by strong gains in the more defensive, yield-sensitive equity sectors including real estate and utilities. After reaching four-month highs last week, the 10-year Treasury yield (IEF) dipped 10 basis points to end the week at 1.83%.
